Note added It was passed as an emergency measure in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease COVID The CVA has significant implications for landlords and tenants of commercial and residential premises and substantially affects the ability of landlords to recover possession.
The provisions apply to England and Wales. PD 51Z provides that for a period of 90 days commencing on 27 March , most proceedings for possession brought under CPR 55 and most proceedings seeking to enforce an order for possession by a warrant or writ of possession are stayed. Please note therefore that this resource is to be read in light of the relevant provisions contained in the CVA as well as PD 51Z.
