The setup for your book stymied my initial efforts to read the story. The reason for this is because a man who makes a public wager about his sexuality smacks of someone who is insecure or indiscreet or both. Instead, I think it shows the opposite for a man who is secure in his sexuality does not need to boast of it. The fact that I ended up liking the book despite the bet premise says something about your writing.
